A shadow beast that hunts in the Ruins of Ixtal. A secret boss: his lair lies off the known paths. He pounces on his target, slashes in a cone and chases only one player at a time.

Balam abilities

Predator's Gaze

Marks someone (never his tank) and hunts only them for 6 s, faster: the marked player runs, the others attack.

Eclipse

Vanishes behind a shadow shield worth 2% of his life for 5 s: break the shield and he is dazed for 6 s, taking 50% more damage; otherwise night falls on everything within 6 tiles.

Jaguar Pounce

Pounces on whoever he is chasing: his claws rake everything within 2 tiles.

Claws of Night

Tears through the air ahead: the 4-tile cone is slashed.

Party mechanic

Eclipse: he gains a shield; if nobody breaks it in time, night falls over a large area.

Every boss warns before attacking: the danger tiles light up in color on the ground and a square grows until it fills; anyone still there when the warning ends takes the hit. Two-stage bosses transform at half health, are immune during the transformation and start using new skills. Near the end they enter desperation and attack faster. Bosses cannot be stunned, rooted or slowed. Every boss and miniboss also has a group mechanic: a shield to break, towers to occupy, a hit to split, spikes, fixation and helpers that protect them.
