Swamp

The first still water past the village. Slimes, toads, crocodiles and rotten ents rule the marsh, and at the bottom of the mire a sunken temple guards Bufo's throne. In the middle of the swamp, the stilt city of Juncália offers refuge.

Toad Marsh

levels 9–13

The first still water past the village: slimes, larvae and will-o'-the-wisps. The boatman and the elder toad camp at the entrance. The Armored Bullfrog lives here, and they say there is a cave with a King Slime.

Gloom Mire

levels 12–17

The heart of the swamp: ants, crocodiles and rotten ents. The lantern trail leads to the Temple of Mire, where Bufo reigns. Among the dangers are the Devouring Plant and the Mire Witch.

Juncália

levels 12–17

The city of stilt houses, built on the lagoon east of the mire by boatmen and healers. Plank boardwalks link Reed Square, the tavern, the council and the dock. There are no monsters: it is where you rest.

Witch's Hut

levels 12–17

Potions on the fire, herbs on the line and a cat that never takes its eyes off you. The witch Morgana knows more than she tells.

Temple of Mire

levels 14–17

Three floors of flooded halls, full of slimes, oozes, ants, bats, crocodiles and rotten ents, and at the bottom the Throne of Mire, where Bufo, King of the Mire, waits past the antechamber of green torches. The second floor hides a forgotten chest.
